What Dynamis does

From system behavior
to working hardware.

Focused engineering support where control theory, real-time software, and physical systems meet.

01 / CONTROLS

C / C++ · QNX / Linux / RTOS
BSP & hardware integration
Legacy software modernization

03 / INTEGRATION

Integration
& verification

Turn requirements and interfaces into a testable system, with clear evidence of what works and why.

CAN & Ethernet interfaces
MIL / SIL / HIL & bench testing
Requirements & traceability

Technical & strategic consulting

Bring clarity to the work.
Build capability in the team.

Turn early ideas, struggling workflows, and emerging opportunities into a practical direction your team can execute and sustain.

Analysis, requirements
& architecture

Develop a high-level idea into documented use cases, system requirements, architectural components, interfaces, and an actionable project plan. Give the development team a coherent starting point for implementation and verification.

Engineering process
& standards

Map workflows across teams, clarify responsibilities, and establish practical standards, reviews, and tools. Align iterative development with business phases and quality gates, keeping requirements, architecture, and code connected as the work evolves.

Workshops, mentoring
& rollout

Work alongside your team to put the approach into practice on real projects. Workshops, guided implementation, and coaching help people apply new methods and tools, resolve blockers, and build confidence in the workflow.

Defense opportunities
& teaming

Connect commercial engineering capabilities with military needs. Support technical positioning, relevant introductions, and teaming relationships, with practical guidance for suppliers establishing a presence in the defense market.

Build the capability.
Hand over the ownership.

Engagements can begin with a focused assessment and roadmap, a defined architecture and requirements package, or scoped advisory support. Workshops and rollout assistance help the team put recommendations to work.

Agree on outcomes, customer ownership, and a planned handoff from the start. The goal is a team that can operate and maintain its own processes, tools, and engineering work products, with follow-on advice available for specific needs.

Better engineering should also make the working day better: clearer expectations, fewer avoidable blockers, and less dependence on individual heroics.

Legacy software sustainment

Keep useful software.
Regain sustainment control.

Dynamis helps Army and defense programs reduce vendor lock-in and regain control of legacy embedded software sustainment.

We recover build environments, assess operating-system and hardware dependencies, and develop targeted changes that give government teams or other qualified maintainers a practical path forward.

Application reuse, documented interfaces, diagnostics, and verification come together in a handoff your team can demonstrate. We assess qualification impacts and help establish the evidence needed for the updated system.

Discuss a sustainment assessment

A useful result at every phase.

  1. Assess and prepare

Establish access, inventory the baseline and dependencies, and agree on the first work package and acceptance evidence.

  2. Recover a runnable baseline

Restore platform support, host selected application software, and deliver repeatable builds, representative tests, and usable design notes.

  3. Integrate the wider system

Address required hardware, network, boot, and diagnostic interfaces, with evidence for representative operating and fault conditions.

  4. Verify and transfer

Exercise the intended hardware, complete the agreed assurance work, and demonstrate that the receiving team can perform the defined maintenance tasks.

An engagement can begin with a bounded baseline-recovery effort. Broader integration, qualification, and fielding support are scoped separately as needed. Duration and staffing follow the condition of the system and the agreed deliverables.

Representative experience

Engineering grounded
in real systems.

Selected work from Paul's consulting engagements and earlier engineering roles.

Power generation / Engine controls

New controller architecture,
from the requirements up.

Led hardware and software architecture for natural gas and diesel genset controllers supporting up to eight cylinders. Defined requirements, hardware/software boundaries, and interfaces for sensing, fuel delivery, and ignition.

Electrification / Vehicle integration

Supervisory controls
for a tracked hybrid vehicle.

Led controls and model-based development for a 40-ton platform at American Rheinmetall Vehicles. Developed production-intent controls on Raptor® RCM-112 with Raptor®-Dev and Raptor®-Cal, including high-voltage bus and energy-storage management.

Dynamis engagement / M109A7 Paladin

A phased path to
government sustainment.

Through Dynamis, Paul worked with PM SPHS and GVSC-SEC to shape a phased scope for software sustainment and internal capability development for the M109A7 Paladin's Vehicle Control and Distribution Module (VCDM).

The VCDM controls chassis components and distributes low-voltage 28 V power throughout vehicle subsystems.

The proposed work connected recovery of the software baseline with board support and operating-system integration, verification, documentation, and knowledge transfer to government maintainers.

Technical scoping and proposal. The contracting path for follow-on execution was not finalized.

Powertrain / Real-time systems

Control algorithms connected
to hardware and evidence.

Developed diesel, AGT1500 gas-turbine, and tracked-transmission controls at Army GVSC, with MIL, SIL, and HIL verification. Broader experience includes Linux/QNX diagnostics, fault management, and communication for autonomous vehicles.
